This page explains how you can stop PostSyncly from accessing your social accounts, request deletion of personal data we hold, and (for Meta/Facebook Login) use the platform data-deletion flow. It complements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to delete personal information we hold about you (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA/CPRA), subject to exceptions such as legal retention, fraud prevention, or data we must keep to perform a contract. We do not sell personal data. For a full list of rights and legal bases, see the Privacy Policy.
We aim to respond to verified requests within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity and, for workspace data, coordinate with your organization’s administrators.
1. Disconnect a channel inside PostSyncly (fastest)
When you disconnect a channel, we stop using the OAuth tokens for that connection and no longer call the platform API on your behalf for that account. Workspace members with permission (typically Owner, Admin, or Editor) can disconnect at any time:
- Sign in to PostSyncly in your browser.
- Go to Settings → Channel connections.
- Locate the Facebook Page, Instagram Business account, LinkedIn profile, X account, TikTok, YouTube channel, Pinterest, Threads, or other connected property.
- Use Disconnect (or the equivalent remove action) for that channel.
What remains: Your workspace may still store historical records you or your team created in PostSyncly (drafts, scheduled or published posts, comments, audit entries, billing records). Those are controlled by your organization and our retention rules described in the Privacy Policy. Disconnecting does not by itself delete your PostSyncly user profile or your employer’s entire workspace.
2. Meta (Facebook / Instagram) — “Send data deletion request”
If you logged into PostSyncly using Facebook Login(Meta), you can also trigger a deletion request from Facebook’s side. Meta may POST a signed request to our app asking us to delete data associated with your app-scoped user ID. We honor that by disabling matching Facebook Page and Instagram Business connections in our database that are tied to that ID and by revoking the stored tokens for those rows.
How to send the request in Facebook
- On a computer, open Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites (path: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites).
- Remove PostSyncly from Active apps, or open Removed / View removed apps and websites if you already removed it.
- Find PostSyncly in the list and choose the option to Send a data deletion request (wording may vary slightly by locale).
- Meta will show a confirmation code and a link to check status — that link points to our status page (below).
Check status: Data deletion status — paste your code or use the full URL Meta provides (it includes a code= query parameter).
Scope: This automated flow covers Facebook/Instagram connections we linked to your Meta login. It does not remove every row in every workspace worldwide; your employer may hold separate copies. For full account erasure, use support@postsyncly.com as well.
3. Revoke access on the social platform
In addition to disconnecting inside PostSyncly, you can remove our app from each network’s security or “connected apps” screen (e.g. Google Account security, LinkedIn authorized apps, X connected apps). That revokes tokens at the source; we will no longer receive fresh data for that authorization after you disconnect or the token expires.
4. Request full deletion of your PostSyncly account or personal data
To ask us to delete your user profile, certain billing or identity records, or to discuss organization-wide deletion, email support@postsyncly.com from your work email address associated with the account (or describe how we can verify you). Include:
- Your name and the email address you use to sign in.
- Workspace or organization name (if applicable).
- Whether you are requesting deletion only for yourself or for a whole tenant.
- Any relevant confirmation codes (for example from Meta).
We will confirm feasibility within legal limits (tax, accounting, litigation holds, and backups are described in our Privacy Policy).
5. Data portability (export)
You may have the right to export data in a portable format. Workspace exports are often handled by your administrator; individuals can contact support@postsyncly.com for guidance. See also Privacy Policy → Your rights.
6. Technical reference for Meta app settings
If you manage the Meta app: set Data deletion instructions URL to https://postsyncly.com/legal/data-deletion. Optionally set the Data Deletion Request callback to https://postsyncly.com/api/webhooks/meta/data-deletion. The callback verifies signed_request with META_APP_SECRET.
